LITHOGRAPH

In this example of a lithograph—Colorado Silver Mine, 15.25" x 10.25" by Arnold Rönnebeck—you can clearly see several useful points.
The first is an example of how a print is numbered: as “#5/25”this one is the 5th in an edition of 25. This is written in pencil, as is standard in fine prints.
Next, in both enlargements, you can see the textured quality of the litho crayon on the stone, including where Rönnebeck used a flat edge of his crayon and simple strokes to create each little ore-car, just as an artist might work with the flat edges of standard crayons or pastel chalks.

Above: Enlargement of about 1" x 1.5" of the print.
